Nilo Geagea. Una devozione ecumenica. La Madonna del Carmine. Roma:
Edizioni OCD, 1990.
Standing on a strong belief that "Dogma is barren, if it is detached from piety"
and that "worship is an ephemeral void, if devoid of dogma" (p. 11), Nilo
Geagea seeks to ground the foundations of Marian devotion, particularly the
ones on Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Scapular, both in its historical and
doctrinal dimensions. In so doing, he aims at preventing them from go astray
which can eventually occur due to piety. Despite the title of this book, which
specifies the fact that devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel is an ecumenical
devotion, the author does not exactly distinguish this aspect in any specific
section of this book. Available in Italian.
