Roma: Tipografia
Editrice M. Pisani, 1988.
In this fourth volume of the collection of studies published by Instituto Historico
Teresianum, Nilo Geagea, OCD, seeks to dive deeper in his reflection on the
Carmelites’ Marian piety from thirteenth through fifteenth centuries. The author
structures his study in six sections: (I) The outset of the Order; (II) Analytical
examination of the sources; (III) Dimensions of our research; (IV) Retrospective
look; (V) Contribution of the sources from a Carmelite perspective; and (VI)
Epilogue. Among the diversity of debated themes, the first section highlights the
question on Carmelites’ historical origins at Mount Carmel; on the second one,
we look at its correlations along each century, both at the biographical and at
documentary levels. Available in Italian.
